Miles Quandt is a Staff Engineer at Fusion Engineering, LLC, focused on mechanical forensic analysis. He holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, with a highly specialized academic focus on the modeling and simulation of motor vehicle systems. During his time at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Mr. Quandt built high-fidelity, virtual twin off-road vehicle models to study dynamic behavior, as well as 1-D thermal models of combustion engines to establish high-performance, manufacturable geometry changes that increase power output.

At Fusion Engineering, Mr. Quandt applies this analytical expertise to component analysis of on- and off-road vehicles, tractor-trailers, and heavy equipment. He also provides support within Fusion’s fire investigation practice, bringing an engineering-based framework to complex fire origin and cause investigations.

Complementing his education, Mr. Quandt possesses practical insight derived from his background in subtractive machining, manufacturing, and hands-on automotive processes. This mechanical intuition is bolstered by his personal experience in competitive auto racing, spanning from go-karts to full-scale race cars.

This unique combination of advanced computational expertise and practical, hands-on mechanical experience allows Mr. Quandt to deliver thorough, real-world solutions to complex engineering challenges.
